[jiuqing, meanwhile, is nestled comfortably into a chair and has quite a sizeable pile of books stacked near her. one is open on her lap, but she looks up from it with a smile when nogiku speaks.]
I've never seen so many books in one place before. It's wonderful.
[here they are, just minding their own business wherever that happens to be, when a bubble very rudely sneaks up on them. jiuqing's eyes widen when she realizes they've been caught inside it.]
...ah.
[this is not the first time this has happened to her today, so she knows what to do already. with a look of resignation, she touches the bubble, and it glows a soft color.
amemoryplaysout, and jiuqing is reminded of why she hates her father so much. ugh.]
once the dust settles, jiuqing can be found in the medical bay. her neck has been neatly wrapped with proper gauze and bandages, and she's being good and resting since she's drained and exhausted today.
she looks over when she spots nogiku out of the corner of her eye, though.]
[beach it is because i have a few on the rooftop already
jiuqing came here to think, but she is finding that being on the beach is not especially relaxing, because every time she glances at the lifeguard station she remembers the picture riff sent of the charizard and remembers that vanille died here.
anyway. her vibes are nowhere near as calm as they were at the execution, since she's not making a point of touching the amber stone on the hairpin - they're a mixture of grief and anger and sorrow, tinged with regret, as she stares out at the waves.]
Yeah, the beach isn't nearly as pretty as it once was— especially with the knowledge that a woman died here.
Nogiku comes to a stop a few paces away from her, a complicated mess of emotions rattling in her skull. Anger, sorrow, regret and a bone deep exhaustion.]
or rather - jiuqing's on the way back to the apartments, having just come out of the medbay archway. she looks kind of tired, which is probably why she stops to take a seat on one of the benches for a moment. just need to take a breather...
...but unfortunately she is still mcfuckedup. while she isn't actively gushing blood anymore - her wounds are actually visible now that the black, tarlike substance is gone.
and they are numerous. while they're all stabilized and healing, they're still pretty rough looking, and will need bandages. she'll have to be very, very careful not to reopen them over the next couple of days, but at least they don't seem to be immediately life threatening?
the most obvious thing is she's pretty badly bruised - there are mottled bruises all over. face, arms, neck... but there are a lot of injuries that are just barely starting to heal over that were bleeding at one time. jiuqing is heading over to where the bandages are when she realizes nogiku is there, too.]
[hello! it is roughly five hours after the animal meeting. jiuqing is oblivious to the texting that's been going on.
she comes out of the pod, her bruises having faded and the rest of her wounds having healed into thin scars, and looks a little surprised to see nogiku there]
[Jiuqing travels back in time to warn us against cult leaders.
This shitty ass motel looks just as bad as Nogiku feels, though. She's visibly agitated, scratching at an eye tattoo that has sprouted on the back of her hand.]
Yes. But we also need to find a way to save them. [Which is what's stressing her out the most, tbh.] There's no quarantine anymore. So, if we're forced to kill them... Then what?
week one, monday.
